I have no ideas without knowing what previous health issues she has and how well they are controlled now. Depending on her situation, they may keep her out of even these simplified issue programs or she may still be able to get a better policy as an individual.
I have personally taken decline offers from one company to a standard offer with another. |

There are plenty of insurance companies that will cover people of all ages and health situations. The price of your premium will change as those factors change.
You can actually go to different sites and receive side by side quotes that will let you compare the benefits and costs associated with each company. These quotes are free and are relatively simple to fill out.
Base your descision on the needs that each plan provides for you.
I actually found a site that has some good insurance articles and has some links to prominent insurance companies that will let you compare their plans. Its http://www.finance-your-life.com

It's may be a little late to be looking into a policy. If she has health concerns it will increase the premium or keep her from getting a policy. There are guaranteed issue policies but the premium is generally high.
Contact a local independent agent. The agent will know what is available in your area and can find a plan if one is available. No use joining a group just for the policy unless you can't get one elsewhere, they generally don't cut you any deals. |

Yep, prepaid funeral. At her age, no one is going to give her "odds" - ie, you can't get a $5,000 policy for $300 a year. It's NOT going to happen. You CAN buy the $5,000 policy for $4500, maybe, except for the previous health issues . . . so you might as well just have her buy the prepaid funeral. |
