I just found out that after the new year my PREMIUM will go from $15 a pay to $48 a pay! The family plan went from $500 a month to $500 a pay! Thank God I don't have kids right now! So, I'm trying to find out if I should look for another job because $ will be tight! Anyone else have this issue?

I am a contractor. I get 10 personal days per year, and no yearly raise, I only make $10/hour and I'm an administrative assistant working for the state of pennsylvania. My peers who aren't contracted make a lot more than I do. I can't become a non-contracted employee because there is a long-term hiring freeze. |

Yes, health insurance goes up for almost everyone. Why do you think health insurance was such a big deal in this past election? Health insurance costs have been going up an average of 6-8% a year for the last 10 years or so. The industry is riddled with inefficiencies, over prescribed medicines, unnecessary surgeries, etc. |

Wow, that's STILL a lot less than we pay.
The average family plan costs an employer $1200 to $1500 a month. So that gives you an idea how much the employer is picking up.

Yep just got a letter yesterday that it was going up again!! Awwww!!! I think is has a lot to do with them trying to fix things! =/ If you want my opinion they need to tax other people who abuse the system & not the ones that actually pay for their own insurance!!! |
