All I know is that my former coworker worked for MetLife before taking his job with me, and he went through a boat load of problems because they claimed HE owed THEM all this money in commissions (which they had already paid him) when he left. Just be wary... |

I don't think anyone read the link...it says "salary" plus bonus. I'm intrigued and I've been in the industry for 16+ years.
It may be smoke and mirrors and boil down to the same as anywhere else, but that's what an interview is for.
You'll want to know what they do to market because most companies bring you in, get you licensed, give you a little bit of training and THEN they want you to dig up your own leads, do your own marketing on your own dime and still want to take half your pay. If they don't provide marketing and leads then they don't deserve half your pay.
But, check it out....I'm curious (not for me, but to see what they're doing) |

I agree with Wgrill on the referrals are your best business.
Pickle-There are many mortgage companies that used to hire loan originators salary plus commission. But if you do not do xxxx amount in sales after a couple of months-You no longer have the job.
rcjr65-I would love to hear more about what you do and how you are doing it. Always looking for more education.
Ask your company what kind of system they have. In other words how do they do the training, what do they use to get your clients and how are you rewarded.
Primerica has an excellent system and unlike Stephanie's friend, you work for yourself. They offer debt relief for families and the insurance part just falls in and sells itself. You do not get salary, but they do pay a scholarship while you are being personally trained. Your not even selling, You educated your customers and they use services that you can provide. This can also be done part-time while you are pursuing your job at met. |

Get ready to be turned down by many people. You probably will be doing some sort of cold calling, but your referrals will be the best business. Ask your family and friends for people they know who need your financial services. |
