Are Churchill insurance liers ?
i got a qoute from Churchill on the phone: fully comp = £690 if paid monthly. i took that.

but then i got an invoice showing £750 and additionally small print comments that they will charge some extra fees for paying monthly- so total would be over £800 !! I WAS ASKING TWICE on the phone if this quote is all inclusive, are they any extra costs...i was speaking to different sales people there over a number of calls, so i was sure all is clear.

so now i called their customer services and they say they cant help coz the quote is no longer on their system to check if i was actually offered what i say i was offered. I did not get a hard copy of this quote either, so no way to prove anything they say.
what should i do ?

Make a complaint via their customer care department - all the calls are recording its not random where some calls are recorded & some or not! This is mis-selling - also check with ombudsuman. The calls should help support you - however did you get amy information before hand as you could have canclled the policy as soon as you knew how much this was. Insurance companies are do not - people just can't bear the truth when under insured or just not covered. If Insurnace companies lied then they would be in court - they can not afford this.

oh yes

.Was hit by a car the driver was insured by Churchill, they wrote my car off even thou it was fixable, offered an amount under its value, I argued this, they eventually settled 5 mths later, I was left out of pocket big time, plus major injuries. I would not touch Churchill, if what I experienced is anything to go by, how do they treat their customers

Bungle
You could cancel your policy early and go elsewhere. You do not have to continue with them. They would have to reinburse the remainder of the time outstanding. You may have to pay a cancellation fee or good thing to do is write to their complaints department and maybe out of good will they will see you right.
And next time get it all in print before you pay a penny.

all insrance companys are liers

Nutty Girl
try tesco for your car insurance put in no claims bonus and then get price then put in the number of yrs you have ,i got a better price with no claim
Alot of companies add interest if you pay monthly but that should have been stated at time.

Leo
It`s a tough one when its all done on the phone these day and with out hard copy. So i think it might be in your interest to contact the Financial Ombudsman, they should no what you should do next.

best of luck

They all are. Banks too.

I had a very very bad experience with Churchill a number of years ago and wouldn't renew my policy with them on principle.

I'd been involved in a car crash that all but wrote the car off and I had to fight big time to keep the car on the road - it took nearly 13 months in the end to resolve and I managed to get the car fixed!

I would never ever go back to them - even if they were the last car insurers left in the world, I'd rather not have a car!!

anothermasculo
Most insurers will state at the start of any phone call that calls are monitored/recorded. Request that if they have lost the quote then can they find that call (you will need the date and time you called). No insurer is any good at dealing with complaints on the phone, put your complaint and request in writing and threaten to take the issue to the FSA if nothing is done - mention the words Mis-Sold, they don't like that at the FSA!

Insure with PRUDENTIAL

I have had no problems in the past with Churchill insurance.
