Are most lawyers and doctors millionaires?

No. Most lawyers have a very, very hard time finding a job, unless they specialize. Most corporate jobs don't pay anywhere NEAR six figures. Most doctors graduate from medical school with six figures of education debt.

I don't think so.. in fact they only make money when they work.. think about it.. if they don't work they don't earn anything. Unlike insurance or anyother business that have residual income that you only have to work hard for certain amount of years and you will have some kind of income if you don't work anymore.

Without being one, I suspect not. My reason is that people don't like lawyers and try to avoid them plus it is a competitive market.

However there are lawyers who have done very well - mainly 'silks' who would be.

With doctors, the story is different. They are better off because you can't avoid going to the doctor when you are sick or find some odd lump under your armpit.

I don't think the average doctor would be a millionairre either but they would be better off than lawyers.

However the potential for lawyers is greater - particularly in the corporate sphere.

I guess that depends on your definition of millionaire. It's pretty easy to have a million dollars in assets with a home cars and investments. In addition most lawyers and doctors have an asset in their practice.
Doctors incomes range from the mid 80's to the mid 300's with a few specialists making a couple of factors more.
Attorneys income have a much larger range with low end attorneys starting in the mid 40's, most in the 75 to 200 and corporate attorneys making close to 7 figures.
Physicians have somewhere between 8 and 12 years tied up in higher education. That takes a long time to recoup.
The law is a value added business. Most attorneys save a lot more than they cost.

no just the lucky ones

I have quite a few lawyers and doctors as clients and for the most part, they are middle class workers with very few being the rich and famous. Unlike other professions however, there are probably very few "Poor" doctors and lawyers.
A musician for example can be dirt poor playing on the street, middle income playing in a professional band with regular gigs, or extremely wealthy by putting out a hit record.
Doctors and Lawyers are middle income with the chance of becoming wealthy.

Far from it. Most aren't. They have alot of debt to deal with and the market is saturated now. So the answer is no.

actually no...ESPECIALLY if you are a lawyer...nowadays EVERYONE tries to be a lawyer..in fact..I know in one city there are so many lawyers that if you throw a rock out the window...the chances of it hitting a lawyer is extremely high. Unless you are with a well known firm or the boss...its hard to make money. Even doctors don't become millionares...its easy to think so. Pharmacists can be millionares though.

bubu
I like to think so. :)
