It will be more likely that Las Vegas will allow you to bet on yesterday's football games more so then an insurance company issuing you a policy after a crash has occured. |

You can try & get all the dicounts like Defensive Driving, Having an Alarm, Driving Safely & many other things to get your insurance down but thats about it. It is mandatory that you have insurance & there is no way you can get out of it, you just have to deal with it. You can't just take out a policy if you have a crash because they will run your drivers license number then & it you dont have insurance then the accident is automatically your fault & you will be in big trouble. Anyways I hope this helps! Good Luck :) |

Any type of insurance is based on utmost good faith. If you do not take out the insurance and run the car on roads you are breaching the law. If you do not wish to bothter to take the insurance then keep the car in your garage or on your drive way. To minimise the cost of cover you could choose the THIRD PARTY only cover.
As explained the utmost good faith means that in the event of a crash you are cheating the insurers, and if that is found out they would not pay you any penny, and also keep the whole of premium with them. If you try to obtain the refund, it will not be possible. I am saying this because before I retired I was an independent insurance adviser. I hope I have explained your problem. |

All insurance companies issue policies on the date that coverage is applied for. If you apply for insurance on November 19th that will be the effective date.
Not much good for an accident that happened November 18th or earlier, eh? |

welcome news

The only loophole is that if you have £500,000 to spare you can put it on deposit as a security and then you don't need insurance.
It is a criminal offence to backdate third-party cover in the UK - so no-one is going to protect you if you have an accident. Do you really want to be made bankrupt???
So just grin and bear it - if you can't afford the premium try using public transport/ taxis - it will probably be cheaper anyway when you consider petrol/ depreciation/ insurance that you won't have to pay. |

In UK, all the Insurance Companies computers are linked to DVLA .. you can't get Road Tax w/o Insurance, and if you don't have Road Tax (or it's out of date) sooner or later some nosy neighbor (or a traffic warden) is going to report you & then Policeman Plod is going to send you a summons ...
.. on the other hand you might just be lucky .. our local council tows away abandoned vehicles (i.e. those w/o current road tax) and I've heard it said that cowboy "car breakers" do the same .. if the car goes missing one day, who you going to call ?? |

no insurance is very necessary if you get into a accident with are without it could end up in a law suite with insurance you will feel better knowing your insurance company has to deal with it and not you do the right thing get it |

Save Money Guide

You insure against the law of averages regarding the likelihood of your having a crash.
You need insurance cover to drive a car. It is illegal to drive a car without insurance.

No, you can't take out a policy to cover you after you crash, any more than you can bet on a game with a bookie, after it's over.
Many states, however, will let you post a cash bond instead of buying car insurance. Usually it has to be at least $35,000. AND, it won't satisfy the lender's requirements, if you have a loan on a car. |
