99.99% of all life insurance companies WILL ask on the application if you are in the military, if you have traveled or will travel outside the U.S. and if you do, what countries will you be traveling to. If you do not answer these questions truthfully, in the event of your death, the claim will be denied. If you have established life insurance several years prior to leaving the country that is a different story. I would contact the military and ask them if there are any companies that will write a policy. |

Sorry cityofmobile...before you rely on this dude, you better check the policy's fine print. No life insurance policy will pay under an act of war. The question will be whether your job will be considered dangerous, and if it just requires an extra premium (rating), or if you'll be excluded all together. The best thing to do is to talk to an agent in your area by asking for a FREE quote. |

Life insurance companies do not issue policies based on that criteria.
All you do is buy a policy from a reputable life insurance company - period.
In the event of your death no matter what the cause ( except questionable circumstances and taking your own life) the policy will pay out to those you named in the policy. |

I wrote a book about mercs in Iraq.
Personally, I think it's suicidal to go there as a civilian, no matter how much money you can make. I'd do everything I could to talk you out of it. Not only could you wind up dead, consider how that would effect not one but multigenerations in your family.
All that said, I'm sure Lloyd's would pick you up; they'll insure anything and anyone if you meet their premium. You might also look into a term life insurance policy. If you are in good shape, I'm sure you could get one at minimum cost.
I wouldn't specify my profession as merc, or your next stop as Iraq. That would definitely throw them off. |
