AIG isn't the crooks....the crooks were the people that gave a $400,000 mortgage to the guy making $40,000 a year. They did this a thousand times over and then sold the package to AIG and the like. I'm not saying they're without blame and that they didn't make a mistake, but there are many places to point fingers....starting with the consumer would didn't realize that making $40,000 a year wasn't enough money to pay a $3000 a month mortgage payment. Them and the people that didn't care that they didn't either are a good place to start for the blame game. |

I think it is amazing what the government will spend money on, and what they will not. It does seem that they are quick to rescue property owners who have homes built homes/property in areas with frequent wild fires, hurricanes, floods etc. but don't pay much attention to low income or even "average" people who don't even know of help that might be available to them.
The whole situation is very disturbing.
Part of capitalism is that businesses fail. If the government is going to step in and "fix" them , it is something else. |
