You'd be making a mistake making a change now for that reason...
IF they filed for bankruptcy protection (which we now know won't happen with the gov't assistance) the life insurance holders should be fine. If anything they'd spin off the profitable insurance unit to a buyer in order to raise cash. AIG doesn't sell insurance...American General does (as does their other subsidiaries)....keep that in mind. AIG just owns American General. |

No. If you and others stay with AIG the company will be fine. The government said yesterday they will be stepping in and taking over.
That is good news. Nothing will change. Stay where your at. AIG will probly be sold to another company. |

I'm got two insurance life policies and retirement plan with AIG. Just really wondered whether i stop all these policies and divert to other agent. Can't beleive such setback would happen.
I'm still keep a faith AIG will come back in full force. Keep in mind if AIG falls, then it would be a huge problem for US market and share. That why federal reserve has to bail it out and we are talking huge industries is at stake. |

Have you read today's headlines? AIG is not going belly up - it's getting a government takeover and bailout. The losers are the AIG stockholders (and potentially, of course, us taxpayers). |

I don’t know. For some reasons I don’t feel comfortable with AIG at this point. Especially with life and home insurance. I understand thou it is mostly “mental thing”, and everything will be OK with my policy even if AIG will take chapter 11, but this is the way I feel.
