i have emailed 4 people now about cancileing my account and no one has emailed me back i am now paying contents cover for a house that i do not live in any more this is rediculus. i only have a mobile so cannot phone you but emailed asking some one to email back or phone but noone i got emailed and asked for my details twice so that the account could be canceled and i gave it to them 2 mounths ago and 2 payments have been withdrawn since then. is there some one i can contact who can dael with this i have contacted elephant agian but i doubt that anything will be done. i am in scotland if that helps

Have you tried cancelling the direct debit from your end... you will probably find they will soon get in touch when they are not getting their money!!
Edit: If your bank have no record of it, how are they taking the money? Phone them (from any phone you can find!) as soon as they open tomorrow and don't get off the phone until you get an answer!! Surely even a 20 minute phone call from a mobile has to be cheaper than them taking another premium.
I know some people find it difficult to use the phone (I am one of these people) but before you ring, think about how angry you feel that they are taking your money. Make sure you have copies of all the emails regarding the cancellation of your account and hopefully you will be able to get a refund. Next time, write by recorded delivery or telephone.
You can contact the Insurance Ombudsman with complaints, but you really have to have gone down every avenue before you do this - just emailing a few times isn't really enough, I'm afraid.

Contact the Financial Ombudsman who will get to root of the problem. Alternatively report then to the Financial Services Authority. Once either of these are involved there are very strict rules about how long they have to resolve your dispute. |

definitely cancell your direct debit - They will try to contact you but possibly at the address that is insured, so just cancell the direct debit and forget about it. Don't even bother to answer phone call's - Just cancell and forget |
