You aren't referring to a specific insurance policy, a kind of insurance or even a company, so we need more details.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield are networks much like McDonalds. They are set up with a list of standards & practices, and individual companies acquire the rights to sell that brand of insurance under than namein a particular state or region of a state in some rare cases.
A short answer to your question is yes. You will likely find SOME kind of Blue Cross insruance plan you will qualify in your area. What it costs, what it covers, how it works and specifics of such would depend on your speicific circumstance and what you want & can afford.
A longer answer is dependant upon what you have. Are you trying to continue a plan from a previous employer? If so you can not stay on a group plan (employer plan from a large company) because you aren't in the group anymore so your liabilities changed. You can take something called COBRA to continue your benefits, but you now pay all of the associated costs that you and your employer previously paid, and it is EXPENSIVE.
If you had a small group or individual plan that your employer paid (small company, self employed, etc.) you may be able to continue on with it, but pay for it yourself. It will be more expensive than you'd been paying before, but likely not as bad as COBRA.
If you arent replacing any insurance and are looking to add coverage check your job. You may be able to add coverage from their group plan, but you can only do this a certain time of year. If not then you can look at a individual plan and Blue Cross companies will likely offer a lot of them to meet your needs of cost and coverage. If you are over 65, disabled, on Medicare, etc. you can likely find a BCBS plan to help you with that too.
If you are unhealthy it will likely cost more or be harder to get. If you lost a group plan recently and are unhealthy, and concerned about future coverage, do anything you can to replace it ASAP or take out the COBRA plan until you can!
I would go to http://www.BCBS.com and choose your state and then open your state's BCBS web site. Select your category (Medicare eligible or not... i.e. under 65), and either review the plans online or follow the contact links to a phone number to call and discuss this with a licesned agent. |

It's available to everyone. You should go on their website to see what individual plans are offered in your area. |

Blue cross blue shield is a COMPANY NAME, not a plan. They have a bunch of plans, in each state.
They offer group plans, and they offer individual plans. If you want a health insurance policy with them, call them, and you can ask them for an applicaton.
If you're on a group plan now, and want to move to an individual plan, they do NOT have to take you, the coverage does NOT have to be the same, and the premium can change! |

If you are looking at a short term lapse i.e. you are switching jobs and the new job makes you wait for a period, got to any insurance agent and they can sell you bridge insurance. It usually runs about $60 per month and covers only emergency situations like you got hit by a bus etc. It is cheap and keeps you under continuous coverage.
Good luck |

You can always take out a private insurance through Blue Cross Clue Shield- Personal Care , depending on what state you live in the price will vary along with benefits. I recomend the Choose Blue policies with Blue Perks advantages
Here is their website www.bcbs.com |

As long as someone qualifies for the insurance (the companies give you an application and questionnaire about medical history) and pay the monthly premiums, anyone can have medical insurance. Ask the companies for their different insurance plans. |
