They are in breach of their contract and also in breach of the Sale of Goods Act since the goods (laptop) were not of merchantable quality and you have a right to have your money refunded to you. You might also lodge a formal (written) complaint to the local Trading Standards Office. |

withold payment, tell them you want to talk to the area manager, and until you do, dont pay. I had a similar problem years and years ago with them, they were Crazy Georges then, but after about 3 months of me writing and calling, and them sending threatening letters, eventually the area manager returned my call, and arranged a new item....a tele if i remember correctly.....Keep a note of all your calls, letters, etc for you to refer to should any further action be taken, and if necessary, get a small claims court claim against them, depending on the price.....Tell them you it is stopping you doing work and in turn, invoice them for loss of earnings...this will help in any future case. |

Look at the contract you signed for the insurance, I really don't think that they can do this to you. Call them back and tell them that if they don't sort it out then you are going to take the matter to the trading standards and maybe the local paper, if that fails call the trading standards for advice and the citizens advice. |

if i was you i would go in and tell them if they do not replace it you are going trading standards and they will not get another payment i know someone that is with brighthouse and they got a pc it broke down and it was six months before she got it back when she got it back it was a different one much older and used they are a con then i would report them go to citizens advice and trading standars they are ripping you off |

I had exactly the same problem with them, over a leather suite. You must get their promises in writing then take it to the c.a.b, because i had paid over half, i just stopped paying and told them to take me to court, funnily they never did. But a broken lap top is no use, get the legal at the c.a.b. to do you a letter, even if they take £250. off the bill for the inconvience. Threaten them with court, they'll soon do something but unless you've paid over half do not stop paying, as otherwise you wont have a leg to stand on, and get them to put everything in writting GOOD LUCK!!! |
