Try your local insurance broker. Specifically ask for a good insurer.
They will assess your needs and advise you accordingly - you will also have the guarantee that the premium they quote is the premium you will pay - something that, regrettably, comparison websites are notorious for being economical about! |

I juse LLoyds . Don't know f they the absolute cheapest but the service if you claim is excellent.Cover for both about £21 a month .. Don't know how that compares. That is Lloyds TSB by the way . |

Moneysaving expert has some good advice and forum to checkout. Your questions should be covered there.
Just read that Norwich Union (who insure about one in five homes in the UK) are to increase property insurance premiums by an average of 10% from next week.
Maybe other insurers will follow them due to the recent flood claims, so maybe its time to shop around.
Remember don't choose the cheapest, review the cover also. |

there is a list of ten home insurance companies at http://www.urmall.co.uk/house-insurance-cheap all household names, the site also tells you the amount of online discount a company has on offer, halifax has a 35% off offer if you buy online, beware though this doesn't mean it the cheapest, i would get a quote off all the companies listed and go with the cheapest |
