Yes, a local, independent agent can get this in place for you. For a one man shop, it should run you around $1500 a year. |

Shop around. Talk to brokers. Not all brokers offer small business liability insurance. As an accountant, I got my best deal through The Hartford-- but there weren't many options for a business like mine.
Also ask other business people who they use and whether they like them (both insurance brokers and insurers). They'll be glad to tell you how great or how bad the people are that they insure through. |

Congrats to you for opening a small business. When it comes to insurance, best thing you can do is to get an "insurance broker". They will be able to match you with an insurance company with services that will meet your needs. Browse thru your phone book or the internet for a local insurance broker. Get references and ask lots of questions when choosing a broker who will represent you.
If anything call your local SBA for free advice. I'm sure they will be willing to help you plus provide you with a wide range of resources.
