Buying life insurance?
Im getting a blood test in a week, but like an idiot I've been smoking weed. Do insurance companies check your blood for drug use, or only on your health. IF they do what can i do to come out clean.

Well, you're not going to come out clean. That's the point of the blood tests. Sorry, they will check.

Do they check for illegal drugs? Yes, typically marijuana and cocaine.

What can you do? Quit smoking weed. In a few months all traces should be gone from a blood sample.

What's the worst that can happen if they detect illegal drugs? They'll decline the policy and report you to the MIB (Medical Information Bureau (www.mib.com). Conveniently, they'll mark their database that you're a illegal drug user so any other life or health company who wants to write a policy will be alerted.

Here's an idea: postpone your blood test!

They will catch the THC in your blood. If you didn't let them know about our drug usage, they can and probably will deny coverage. If you did let them know, and that is within their underwriting guidelines for the policy you applied for, then you should be ok.

Normally it takes weeks or months for THC to be metabolized out of your body. Is there a way to get THC out of your system in under a week? Yes, but it will cost you a bundle. According to how much you smoked, anywhere from $100 to $250 for a total body, permanent detox. They take from a day or two up to a week to complete and they must be done exactly according to the directions. Don't trust the drinks that dilute or mask the THC. They won't work for bood test--only UAs, and then only some of the time.

Total body, permanent detox systems are available online at: http://www.ipassedmydrugtest.com

Blood tests are good things and can tell the underwriting dept. about many body functions.

Now to answer your question. Drug use and marijuana can stay in your system up to several weeks or longer. Much depends on the total level of use and what's accumulated in your system. Most Ins. cos. use similar methods and the same testing companies.

On a life app 15-20 years ago; my client said he smoked a number occasionally. The point is he admitted it on the app. and the company was aware of it and it showed up but to no ones supprise and the policy was issued.

On another occasion a client who didn't smoke tobacco but only an occasional number; didn't answer truthfully and he still was issued a policy and good rates.

It is my opinion that cholesterol, liver functions, HIV, and Hep b, and a few other blood tests are what the life cos. are really concerned about.( remember life expectancy and risk are how they crunch the numbers)

Also much depends on the life company their size, time of year, (fall is better than spring because of year end), the agent and the underwriting priorities. Good Luck CWW

It depends on your age and sum assured.I f you are taking any pension plan then there will be no medical test done but if you are more than 35 and you are taking a sum assured more than 5 lacs then the company may ask for a medical test. You have to give a declaration about your smoking and drinking habit. They will check it out via medical and can accept the proposal with some added mortality. If they see that the quantity of drug in your blood is above the normal level they can decline the proposal. If you want to take an insurance plan then you should not take drugs for atleast 3 to 6 months.

They will check for it, and my suggestion would be to quit smoking weed and suffer through the lumps of getting denied your policy. Chances are, if they detect it and you're denied, you probably won't be able to get life insurance for a while because all of the companies you apply with will ask you if you've ever had insurance cancelled, rejected, or refused renewal. Sorry!

Life insurance policies are classified into different types. Term life insurance policy is the easiest and almost anyone can apply for a term life insurance policy. The attractiveness of this policy is that it is inexpensive. The biggest disadvantage is that you accumulate no cash value. If you stop paying you lose whatever you have paid over the past months or years. Basically this policy is meant for young people live with their families
