~~It all depends on your policy. Check with you Human Resource Department, or call the members service number on the back of your insurance card. They should be able to tell you.~~ |

It actually depends on what state you live in. And the laws regarding common law marriages. Every state is different. In Texas (where I live and am licensed), the answer is yes. AND you get to pick your qualifying event date, because when you complete the form, it becomes your marriage license. Really. So, what state are you in and are you prepared to complete a form stating you are married? Texas doesn't have their own form, but most states do. |

Most likely not. Definately not the kids, but sometimes, if your employer allows (not very often!) you can carry the live in girlfriend. It's not at all common.
Of course, if you marry her, then you can add all of them. Obviously, you don't respect her enough to marry her, so it's not reasonable to expect your EMPLOYER to respect her enough to cover her and her kids. |

Very doubtful that shack ups would qualify. You have to be married. |

I don't think so. My aunt's been living with her bf for almost 20 years. I guess they might as well be married but anyway, she called her insurance and was denied. But check with your company because I'm sure it depends on how long you've been with your gf.
I also heard that it depends on your state (laws). Goodluck! |

You'll have to discuss that with your insurance carrier and employer (if it's an employer plan). |

Typically not, unless you are married or they are a dependent on you legally, insurance companies would say you don't have an insurable interest in them. |
