Can I get medicade while I am isuranced?
If I am covered under my parents insurance but they will not pay for the pregnancy, would I be eligible for medicade?

If I have my own insurnace and I get pregnant before the six month waiting period will Medicaid pay for what my insurance will not pay for?

At peace with myself
yes, it is possible. call your local hrs office

If by "they will not pay for the pregnancy" you mean the insurance company, then get a letter from them stating that and take it to your local Medicaid office. If "they" is your parents, they can not dictate what the insurance company will or will not cover. Talk to your local medicaid office. See what they can do for you. You do not have to be married to the father of the child to get Medicaid. If your parents do not support your pregnancy then that is also an issue that you need to address. I wish you all the luck in the world!

You are insured, YOU pay the difference! You got yourself into this mess! Medicade is for people who don't have insurance! You don't need your parents permission to submit your claims to the insurance company, since you are on their policy! All you have to pay is what the insurance won't cover! If you would have made sure you were protected you wouldn't have this problem!

If you are covered under your parents insurance and they have had their insurance more than 18 months with maternity coverage, then they can't refuse to pay.

However, yes, you can be eligible for Medicade if you can get proof that your parents have no maternity coverage. A letter from the insurance company would suffice. If it is because the deductible is high, you are flat out of luck.

If you marry the father, then you will no longer be covered under your parent's insurance (insurance usually covers only the insured couple and their unmarried children, not their grandchildren or married children).

Even if you do not do this, the baby will not be covered under your parent's insurance (ininsurance usually covers only the insured couple and their unmarried children, not their grandchildren or married children) and may qualify for Medicaid.
