Can I reduce my Home Insurance cost after two claims>?
LAST YEAR I HAD TWO CLAIMS DUE TO A FIRE ON MY GARAGE. ONE I HAD TO REBUILD THE ENTIRE GARAGE, THE 2ND WAS JUST MINIMAL DAMAGE, BUT IT STILL RREQUIRED PAYMENT, I BEEN SHOPPING AROUND FOR HOME IINSURANCE BUT EVERYONE GIVES ME DOUBLE THE RATES I HAD BEFORE. I NOW PAY 2,400 A YEAR, WHO CAN TAKE ME FOR MUCH LESS. SEEMS LIKE THE COMPANIES TALK TO EACH OTHER. I NOW HAVE ALL STATE, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND BY SAYING COMPANIES TALKE TO EACH OTHER OR I AM SCREWED, I ALREADY KNOW THAT, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT INSURANCE COMPANY WILL TAKE ME FOR LESS MONEY (PERFECT FOR INSURNACE SALES OTU THERE). THANK YOU

Home insurance covers lots of different things. I don't understand all the fine print of my policy, but my homeowners insurance agent is always helpful. Try contacting your agent or a agent in your area. http://www.easyhomeinsuranceguide.com They will be able to assist you.

Companies DO "talk to each other." Have you ever heard of a CLUE Report?

You are not completely screwed, but all companies take prior losses into account when making rates.

One solution, which isn't the greatest, but may work in your situation is increasing your deductible.

What everybody is telling you is correct (CLUE report, higher deductible, etc.) Rather than go to a direct writer (i.e. Allstate, AAA or State Farm) you should try going to an independent insurance agent who has access to several carriers. This can save a lot of the hassle of shopping around.

Sometimes, with certain carriers, if you agree to automatic withdrawl of your monthly installment vs. sending in a check, you can save yourself a little.

Putting your car(s) and home with the same carrier will alomst always give you a "multi-policy" discount.

Check all of your limits - make sure none of them are "excessive". If they are, you can opt to lower them a bit. (BE VERY CAREFUL)

Try to stay with a reputable carrier so that in the event of another claim, you are taken care of.

I've been with Travelers Insurance and it was extremely reasonable for me. When I added my fiance on with his sports car and a recent robbery claim, I found I needed to shop around. I did end up with a direct writer, Triple A, which was SIGNIFICANTLY less.

Try AAA or an independent insurance agent.

Yep, with two claims on your record, you're not going to find companies eager to take you on.

Best way to get a lower rate, is increase your deductible. A LOT. Like, maybe to $5,000 or $10,000, enough so that at least one of those claims would have been under the decutible.

Yes, all companies share claims losses. There's a central clearing house, called the Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange - CLUE for short. Before they give you a firm rate, they run you through the database, both your name, AND your address - so that all claims either under your name, or at your address, will show up.

Not what you want to hear, but there IS a solution - raise that deductible - A LOT. And just wait out three more years, until those two claims drop off.

Plan b - talk to your agent. See if your current carrier would consider you, with lower rates, if you purchased a central station alarm system, or a direct fire alarm system. Or if the causes of the fire were similar, if you can creatively nullify that cause from cropping up again (like, rewiring the garage).

homeinsurance.awardspace.us - you can try this company. I personally have their home insurance. As I know it is a cheapest one in my area for rates after multiple claims.

Perhaps try to increase your deductible and see if you can also save money by insuring your car and home through the same insurer. I saved my family over $800 a year by switching to Liberty Mutual. I highly recommend them. You can go to their online site and then they will call you, ask you the questions, get you the max discount they can, and then give you a rate.
