Can Medicare and Social Security benefits be affected by somones income or life insurance?
I'm wondering if because my grandparents are on social security and Medicare can they receive a large sum of money that I want to do a business transaction from. My mother says that it would probably get their coverage revoked and may even have the money taken away to pay for all the costs of their medical needs that the government already paid.
Is this possible? Additional Details Will they just stop the benefits or will they try to recover the money they already paid out from ss and Medicare from the money I put in my grandparents account. Thanks
It depends how much money they have. If they have a lot of money yes. If they have the pension and little extra money no. You can ring centre link anon and ask how much money can you have. That is why old people don't leave money in there bank, then their house is robbed. The point these days pensioners live from pension to pension and don't have that little extra. Your mum sounds a little jealous?

this is possible they are only allow to make so much in order to receive social security i do belive this will affect them and they only get medicare because of ss and it will hurt them try another aprouch

Yes! This is why people on SS can only work up to a point/income amount before they lose thousands of dollars in SS.

Income, yes. Life insurance, no. I suggest that you handle your own finances without involving your grandparents.

no that is not possible you have paid the premium for the benefit you got so there is no like this low

Usually Medicare is for people who are over 65; and if they get their regular retirement checks from Social Security Administration, any other income should not affect their benefits. But if people are getting Social Security checks due to disability, they will end up getting less money from the Disability benefits from the SSA due to other income.
