I think Farmers if the best - you get a discount if you have your home and your car with them, too. They have monthly pay, too.
GEICO is the absolute WORST. They may be cheap, I don't really know but they are awful on claims settlement!!!! The worst I've ever seen.
I wouldn't go with an einsurance company either. There is no guarantee they'll be around when you need them.

Where do you live? In what state? If you live in Texas I will be happy to give you a quote! I have many companies to choose from! Otherwise if you are looking for cheap look in the yellow pages for independent agents (they wont be listed as independendents though), these are agents that dont have big names like AllState or Farmers next to them. County Mutual companies tend to be dirt cheap too. Make sure you dont let anyone talk you into a fire policy or fire dwelling policy. It will be cheap but the first will ONLY cover you if you have a fire and the latter will only cover the house in case of fire/wind/hail but not your contents. ie: furniture, clothes, tvs etc. Always go for a policy with Contents and Loss of Use. Loss of Use covers you incase something happens and you cant live in your house while it gets fixed. Pays for mortgage payments, hotels or apartments etc. Good Luck. |

Any company you go with will have a multi-line discount. Auto and home but I would suggest going to the major ones and getting quotes. I work for farmers in Texas and they have had 3 rate increases in the past year so unfortunately I would not suggest them. I would suggest state farm. That is who I Have and I have never had a problem with them. Do not go with one of the hole in the wall ones or ones that only have an 800#. you can never get in touch with them and most of the time the wont pay out! |

You are looking for the wrong thing!
You should be looking for a house insurance poliy with wide cover, a low excess and through an insurance broker who will help you should you need to make a claim.
After all - should a claim occur, the cost of the policy will be the last thing on your mind. |
