Nope. For an individual life insurance policy, you would have to answer health questions and sign an application. If you were married and he had group coverage, there could be spousal coverage, but even that terminates once you become an "ex-wife". |

Simply put, the answer is no. After all, the person being insured has to go through all the medical questions and even a medical checkup to see if he/she qualifies for life insurance. |

The answer is yes, but only if it was court ordered (because of child support or alimony payments) and you did not already supply proof that you have this in place. If it is either not court ordered or you have supplied proof, I do not know of anybody that would supply him coverage on your life.
This is a rare set of circumstances, and it is apparently rarer still that his agent would know all his options (based on the answers here). For further information agents can go to www.piu.org and look up "confidential life insurance". |

BUT, if you two took out policies on one another when you were currently married, and he continued to pay the policy premium each year (even after you were divorced), he can cash in when you die. |

No. You have to sign the application and answer the medical questions. An insurance company would not and could not sell your husband a policy insuring your life without your knowledge. |

Your "husband" could take a policy out on you, as he would have an "insurable interest" in you. However, you would have to sign the application stating you are aware and in agreement and answering the medical questions. If he did this while your husband and he "owned" the policy, he could continue to own it.
He could not take a policy out on you as an ex husband. UNLESS, you have children and you agree. Most companies would require the beneficiary to be your children in this instance. Contact the local insurance association of agents (? association name?) and ask if there is a way to research what insurance policies are out there on your life. |
