Get Married.
Sorry, but most employers require that you be married to be put on the health insurance plan. Engaged is just another form of girl friend in the eyes of the employer. It does not have legal standing.
But you can have your fiance call his HR dept and see if they have an allowance for you. But I would expect they do not. |

You might be able to assuming you meet their requirements for being domestic partners -- which may be 6 month cohabitation. AND, if they cover domestic partners. That decision is usually made at the company level.
But, the question is why would you want to knowing that group insurance costs twice as much as an individual policy? If you're healthy just go get your own plan. |

You will not be able to be on your fiance's employer sponsored health plan unless you have previously established Domestic Partner status, and then only if the plan allows. |

Absolutely, if the insurance contract also provides for family members as beneficiaries. But EMPLOYEE is the person to include you as a beneficiary.
Heads up on making any kind of a claim these days, tho http://www.bcdisabilities.com/bcdisforum/viewtopic.php?p=330#330. Health insurance is probably the next big financial meltdown. GM is but one example. |
