Auto insurance is pretty expensive and there is no CHECK system that would catch onto it & stop you, so it can be done. Is there some reason why you'd want to double-charge yourself???

If you're thinking of a claim in the future - You WON'T get paid twice if you have a claim (they do check those things!) so it's not worth the effort.
Putting in 2 claims for the same loss would be considered insurance fraud & is punishable by fines & jail-time.

If you have a specific reason - or have more specific question - feel free to email me.

Sure, but if you make claims to both companies, the two companies will split the amount paid. You will not get full payment twice.

Here's the thing... there's no reason for this unless you intend to commit insurance fraud. And here's the other thing... most people get caught. There are SO many "controls" in place and things claim reps are trained to look for that unless you're pretty sneaky, you're not going to get paid for a false claim. PLUS... if you do get caught, you can be arrested (it's a felony) and you better believe any large insurance company is going to come after you for complete restitution. We're talking court, fines, and collection agencies. Good luck.

Now days they have ways to check up on that so i dont think two policies would be something you would want they wouldnt both pay anyway.Plus waste of time and money let alone all the trouble for you it could cause

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

Even if you had two seperate auto policies on the one auto, you are still not going to be paid for a claim more than what one policy would pay for.

Why would you want to waste your money?

You could take that premium amount and have a nice plan of life and disability insurance, and still have some left to put into an IRA or other accumulation plan.

Why would you want two policies covering one vehicle. Isn't that just a waste of money? Are you thinking about insurance fraud perhaps? You WILL get caught.

Sure, but it's twice as expensive, and you can't collect anything extra - if there's more than one policy in force at the time of a loss, they SHARE the loss. You still even have to pay the deductible.

that would be a huge waste of money. if your throwing it away at least dont give it to insurance companies.
