Old know all is correct. There is a market in traditional with profits policies, but not in unit-linked ones.
You can try a number of companies

Or, there is now a platform:
www.tepexchange.com
That accesses a number of the companies and will find you the best price for your policy. |

Abbey Life policies are unit-linked. You're unlikely to find anyone willing to buy it for more than the surrender value. The firms that buy policies are usually looking for old-style with profits endowments where the surrender value doesn't reflect the true value of the contract. |

I have not heard about any company buying insurance policies. You can surrender your policy and get the cash value built into it. Ofcourse you will have to pay surrender charges. |

There is something here in the states called a Viatical - essential companies will purchase your life insurance policy.
However, it's a very tricky business, they won't buy every policy, normally you have to be seriously ill - expect about $0.15-$0.25 per dollar of life insurance you carry; IF they would accept you.
I'm sure things are different over there, but maybe do a search for viatical. |
