Life insurance won't help your net worth grow, but it will help your family's net worth grow temporarily because you will be dead. I say temporarily because it all depends on how your family will use the death claim. If they use up all the death claim for fun and entertainment or to upgrade their life style, then they didn't increase their net worth. If they invest it and use it wisely, then their net worth will grow. |

Not necessarily; Net worth is based on the "carrying value" of the assets. For example if you pay $100 dollars for a $1 Million dollars life insurance, then the "carry value" is $100 dollars NOT $1 Million dollars. So in this case your net worth got bigger by $100 dollar in theory.
The second consideration for the lendor is if that asset has any value for him; for example if you buy a building that's an asset he can sell and get money from, but he can't sell yours life insurance, and he can't kill you to get the $1 Million. |

While it's outside the scope of this discussion; can life insurance increase your net worth? Yes it can, given the right type in the right scenario. And contrary to another post here, you don't have to die for that to happen. |

No, it doesn't. It isn't worth ANYTHING until after you die. Even policies that build cash value, take years to build value, and then they only build a fraction of what you've paid in. |
