I understand that without knowing which carrier my brother has it's not possible to know the answer for sure. But in most cases would my brother be able to add me to his insurance? He works at a hospital and has the typical $10 co-pay, 80% coverage insurance. I live in Idaho and he lives in Kentucky. He has no spouse or children. |

If you are under age or depandant to your brother ofcourse it is legitimate reason for him to include you his policy. It is also depends of the kind of insurance he has and the company policy. |

Highly doubtful that this will happen. Insurance policies will cover relatives in terms of spouses, legal partners, step-children, natural children, or adopted children.
However, a sibling relationship is not one of those situations. |

Generally, no. Usually, the only persons who can be added to health insurance obtained through work are spouses, children. In some cases, homosexual domestic partners (in civil unions, etc.) can be added. I am not sure if any states will allow a registered domestic partnership or civil union between siblings. |

Generally he would not be able to add you unless you were his dependent. With most companies your lucky if you can add your parents/domestic partner let alone a sibling.
Also, MBRCATS is wrong; If you have BCBS they have the BlueCard network and if you have a PPO in KY but see a dr in ID as long as they are ppo par with the ID plan it will pay as particpating. |

NO. You are not his dependent - unless you're incompetent, and he's your permanent legal guardian.
Also, each health plan is issued IN THAT STATE. A KY health plan will have KY providers, none of whom will be "in network" in ID. |

i would say it depends on his company. but if you aren't a minor and he doesn't support you (you would also have to live with him). then i would say no. |
