You can't collect unemployment if you quit your job under pretty much any circumstances.
There are a few, very specialized situations in which this is allowed, but I'm not aware of any law allowing this for moving.
The law states, pretty clearly, that you must be unemployed through no fault of your own.

Call your state's unemployment office.
But in most states, the job loss can not be voluntary. You can't just decide to quit, for whatever reason. You need to be fired or laid off.
That is - you can decide to quit, but you can't both CHOOSE to leave your job AND get unemployment. if that were the case, everytime someone got fed up and quit, the claims would be flooding all the states. |
