To start with, you need to get business licenses, insurance licenses, have backing of investors, get incorporated and have millions in the bank to cover all potential losses. That is just the BEGINNING. If you can't afford your insurance deductible (from your other question), you will never afford to be able to start your own insurance company.
It is cheaper to start your own agency but you have to get appointed by insurance companies (not an easy task) & get your insurance licenses to sell insurance. You also need to know exactly what you are talking about because unless you do you will have a difficult time gaining people's trust for them to buy from you. |

You need to have MILLIONS to start one. And accounting, legal, and actuarial teams backing you up. |
