Can someone recommend an insurance co. for a homeowner's policy in NJ?
My homeowner's policy has gone up $400 in one year and I received a letter from Lib Mut saying it's going up another 15 - 18%! I am starting to look around for a new company but I want a good one. I hear NJ Manufacturer's is cheap but one claim and you're dropped AND they are horrible about responding to claims.
I want a reputable company and if you have experience with a claim...how did they respond?
I am in NJ as an agent it is very difficult to place home insurance now a days. Yes as inflation goes up so does your homeowners policy, in general all HO policies in NJ are up about 250 to 400 dollars on renewal this year. Always shop your policy do not worry about a claim and getting dropped. Keep looking you will find something, If you want a quote e mail silverclrk at g mail dot com. I will work it up for you friday.

Have you noticed that home insurance companies automatically increase the value of your home 6 to 10%?
I am allowed every three years to dispute this increase and have my home appraised over the phone.
I have Geico. I pay less than $300/year for my home insurance. 3K foot home. I have a daring 10,000 deductible with no extras. I have that money in the bank (locked away) in case something happens.
I'm an insurance cutter guru of sorts. I also carry health insurance with a 9,500 deductible - I'm insane, but I pay about $50/month for this.
Don't even ask me about car insurance.

When I lived in NJ has NJ Manufacturers and they did not drop for a claim. Who ever said that had other reasons. They are very affordable and have a rebate. If the company has a good year, they send you a dividend check. I would certainly look at it. But, I worked for the railroad You have to be a state employee to get the insurance.
Good luck. Happy New Year
