Can someone under another Medicare Health PLAN change to another?
An elderly person in my family is moving out of Florida and apparently the state she's moving to doesn't have same medical plan. She will probably be going into UNITED HEALTH CARE again because this is the one she had up to almost three years ago.
My question is, Can she change right now?
I was always confused about whatever it was said that coming January whomever did not change plans had to stick w/ the one they had.
Or am I mistakingly thinking about MEDICAID recipients instead?
Yes, she can change around the time she moves. She will have a special enrollment period. You should call 1-800-medicare for more information or go to their website. You won't be charged a penalty.

When you move you will have a special enrollment period where you can sign up for a plan that is in the county you are moving to.

If your family member moves outside of the service area of her existing Medicare plan, she is eligible to enroll in the original Medicare plan or any other Medicare plan available where she will be living.
Personally, I believe the original Medicare plan is the best option for Seniors. There are almost no physicians who don't accept original Medicare and there is no need to worry if the person moves as your family member is doing now.
