I am a Veteran and have the VA Hospital insurance.
My income consists of the following:
SOCIAL SECURITY
JP MORGAN PENSION
SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY
401 K
Are any of those 4 incomes exempt from a lawsuit?
I am concerned because I am very ill and the VA Hospital is not close at all.
If I need to go to a hospital for emergency treatment or surgery, I don't think my VA Hospital insurance covers stays and procedures in another hospital that is NOT a VA Hospital.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

You need to contact your local VA office.
If you have a TriCare program, it should have provisions for your treatment at a facility closer to you since the VA Hospital is so far removed.

~~Your insurance benefits will cover you at any hospital in a life and death situation, or an emergency like something broken or requiring stitches.
Otherwise a hospital has the right to collect on you for services rendered which is outside your emergency coverage, if you use them and do not pay. A court would decide what options they have to collect on.~~ |

The VA will cover you for emergencies but not routine care. And the hospital will try to bill you anyway for the emergencies. Really, you need to get hold of the VA to clarify this.

Probly the only income exempt from lawsuits is Social Security.

I got into a motor cycle accident in august of last year.I broke my back ,punctured my lung, and broke two ribs.I was taken to another hospital other than a va hospital it was a matter of life or death this is why they took me there. Now im being sued for 480,000 and the va wont pay for this.can they do this? the va was my health care provider before the wreck and still is to this day.I dont under stand how this can happen. If there is any one that has imformation about how i can solve this problem or someone i can talk to about this mess please contact me.Im 55 years old and retired and dont have money to pay these hospital bills.please if there is anyone out there that has any imformation that could help me resolve my problem please email me i dont know what to do and i dont have 480,000 dollars to pay these bills. |
