YES! Every time your policy renews the company runs your MVR (motor vehicle report) and if a new ticket appears, your rates will go up. And typically tickets are on for 3 years so....there's your answer! |

It can, depending on how the insurance company sets rates and how often they check your public records. Some states have rules on when the rates can be raised, it may require more than one ticket, etc, depending on your state's department of insurance. |

It depends on what the ticket is for and how long you have been with your company. If you have been with company for some time they may do an internal check to re evaluate your rates which mean lowing your cost because your vehicle has depreciated but also raising it because they find violations. For the most part as long as you aren't shopping for insurance it should have a huge impact on your rates. When you originally take out a policy you are qualified by claims and tickets as to what tier or company the company will let you be in. If you have qualified for there top tier they cant take that away from you unless you have had multiple claims or major violations. DUI, Leaving the scene of an accident or fleeing the police. I would not recommend shopping for insurance for 3 years after tickets unless you go to a high risk company, be wary as they don't always settle claims quickly. You can always fight tickets in court and have them reduced to something else. I have seen speeding tickets get reduced to parking on wrong side of street which has no bearing on insurance rates.
