Not true. There are a few wife killing cultures in the world, but America doesn't have one - India, China, and the Arab worlds are big into that sort of thing.
If he DOES kill you, or rather, if you die by murder, he won't get anything until your murderer is found.
If you trust your husband so little that you think he's going to kill you, I think you have bigger issues than life insurance. I'd suggest a divorce. |

This has more to do with marriage than insurance. Try talking it out.
Insurance is designed to help compensate someone for a large and unexpected loss. I think the death of most spouses qualifies under that guideline. |

Life Insurance is somewhat misnamed. It should be called income protection. If you are working and you die, would your husband need the income you are providing the household to keep himself and if any, children living in the life style you are living now? If yes, you need life insurance, if no, you need just enough to cover funeral arrangements. At any rate, if you decide to get insurance, term insurance would be the least cost, and the best product for you. |

Many a time, what you heard and what you know are two differect things in life. Life is short....life can be sweet...
Your relation with your hubby...that you got to know for sure.
First, you got to ask yourself...Why are you going to be insured? Is there a need? Murdered or not...we got to die one day!
Maybe you should read more on life insurances and all matters related before you make a decision.

You should have a guy feeling on whether or not your marriage is solid. Go by that. If your mate is aggressive and controlling, manipulative etc, that's the only reasons I would worry if I were you.

If you have children life insurance will help your husband to have someone look after them if something were to happen to you.
If you don't have children, and you don't make a lot of money, then life insurance isn't really necessary anyway.
Also, most insurance companies will not insure you for very much unless you contribute significantly to the family's income.
On another note, perhaps you should not be with someone you are so afraid of... |

Maybe you should be seeking divorce, if that is your suspicion. I believe that if an insurance company suspects foul play. They may delay payment, or if it was determined that the spouse killed his/her partner the insurance money will go to some other beneficiary or maybe whoever gualifies for insurable interest. I am probably wrong, but this is my guess. |

If you are really concerned, talk to your husband again. Be honest about your fears. Ask him his reasons for getting the policy. Do you have assets, such as a house, that you need to protect? Is your income vital to paying all the bills? If there are no sound financial reasons to get insurance, then don’t get it. |
