i don't think so,.. you are collecting Workman's comp because you are UNABLE to work. if you show them that you are able to work, they may hit you up for fraud. |

They can not force you to work at home or anywhere else. What they can however do is offer work to you that fits into your Dr.'s guide lines. This maybe work that can be done at home if you refuse that work for any other reason than Dr's orders you may not be entitled to all WC benefits. Each state has different WC guidelines check with your state dept of insurance for more details on this. |

I have never heard of that, but they can force you to work part time if you are physically able to do so (or pay you partial benefits because you can work some). They want to get you back to work as soon as possible, even if it is considered "light duty." |

Believe it or not it's the the worker's comp company. It's your company. as long as they don't give you any duties that contradict your doctor's restrictions, they can do it. |

No, not at all. If any one is forcing you then it is illegal. you must go against it. Now a days a husband can't force his wife and even parents also can not force their children to do accordingly . |

no, I don't think so I've never heard of that before |

They can try it but they can't force you to take any job lower pay than what you had... |

No one can force you to do anything you do not want to. If you regret giving who ever is trying the power over you, then simply with draw it.
Like all things nowadays I think it bores down to how important money is to you.
- "money is the root of all evil"
- "don't sell your soul to the devil"
- what price to you place on your own life ? |

depending on what state or province u r in, yes they can depending on what your injury was and what u r capable of doing now according to doctors reports sent to worker comp. i would agree however u check with the doctor handling your case. Is the work they are asking u to do for a current employer which can be performed at home or is something outside your regular job? for one thing check out what the regulations state and check your rights. |

i would look into it, each state is different, I was on workman comp for 4 months after i got ran over by a car, but as soon as i was able to work , i was off. and alot of them if they find out you were working while on it . will take you off it. good luck, i hope you find the answer you are looking for. |

No, but if you are able and you aren't able to provide sufficient information why you can't, such as doctors notes, tests etc, they may stop paying you.
They can't make you do anything. You have to decide if you are telling the truth and if you want to fight for it. All you have to loose is money. |

Well if they do what are you going to be doing as it must in some way fit your job description. Hey coffee breaks can be an hour long at home, so why are you complaining. Unless they have you building furniture and expect a dresser a day, I can't see what they would be having you. Good luck and get well soon, you are missing out on that long drive to work and back. |

I don't know what the laws of your state are but I have never heard of Worker's comp forcing anyone to work from home. I would look into the state regulations to see what they can and cannot do. Comp is for persons who cannot work due to an injury sustained on the job, and depending on what type of work you did they may be able to get you back into the work force in some fashion. |

See Melissa's response above.
Depends on your state. I've never heard of a Work Comp system that can force you to do anything. |

talk to your attorney: or get www.prepaidlegal.com
for $16-$25 a month for one month if you will. |

May I help You?
 |
You need to the workman's comp - department supervisor. Get any answer.
And remember if you want to continue to receive benefits, you must do what they say. However, I still say only deal with a supervisor at this point.
GOD bless us one and all, always! |

No, but chck with yur state insurance board for your particular state. Workman's comp laws protect you in the event of an injury that is work related. If you work from home you may not be eligible unless you purchase coverage for workman's comp for you and your employees. Again check your state insurance laws. |

If you are getting the comp, you should not be working at all. Am I missing something in the question? |

All depends on your illness and limitation.
If you are earning very little, you may want to have a second carrier and get them to pay for your schooling and try to see what you can do.
Here is suggestion if you can read and make good phone converastions. May be you could get into this and earn some ggod money too!
I am in insurance business in Illinois and i do well with this. But i started as a part time plan and soon it became a full time and my wife is happy too. So, I do not know where you live but check these sites and may be you can afford having a baby and a part time job (you time job) in this business but you must pass some exams (not hard). You can answer and may be i can find someone to help you getting your license in your State.

NO..But if you are able to work they will kick you off and make you go back to work or some kind of work. If you end upp being disabled then you can get retraining... |

If you are workman's comp, you'd best not be seen working at all, or they will stop your benefits and you'll have to return to the job you were injured on, or quit. |

No........Workman's comp. insurance is for healthcare when you have been injured at work.....They can not force you to work anywhere. Just don't sign anything without a lawyer looking over it for you. You could loose your job by accepting a settlement. I did...... |

If you have a job that can be performed from home, yes, they can determine what benefits will be paid if they feel you are able to work, at least minimally from home. Hope this helps. |
