No it's not hard to get rid of health insurance if you quit. The premium is taken out each month from your paycheck. Once you quit and the termination notice is sent in, your health insurance is stopped at the end of that period. They will usually send you some papers to see if you want to sign up for a Cobra Health Plan (an extended health insurance where you pay the total premium). You don't have to accept it.

If you leave your current position, your insurance will terminate. You would be allowed to continue it for a period of time (under COBRA) if you pay the total premiums yourself, which is usually too expensive for most everyone. |

If you quit a job you're also quiting the benefits you receive through that employer. They cannot insure you any longer since you're not an employee. Therefore no it's not "hard" to quit since it was terminated for you.
If you're making the monthly payments, you won't have to expect another one. Your employer will terminate your coverage immediately. |

Typically if you quit your job, the benefits end on the last day of the month you quit. It usually happens automatically. Then, you are offered COBRA or state continuation, which is the right to continue coverage.
Once you leave, if you want to obtain health insurance independently, fill out a form at http://www.myinsurancequotes.net.

Why would you WANT to get rid of health insurance, unless of course your new job has a plan.??
If you QUIT your job, your health insurance will expire within a month after your first missed premium. Most employment plans stat that the insurance stops on the day employment terminates, but some are "paid ahead" by as much as one month.
It is NOT a good idea to drop a plan unless you have a plan to replace it. When you become employed an another job, and you have health insurance there, they may ask that you show Proof of Previous Insurance in order to cover preexisting conditions. in fact, I think it is a federal law that insurance companies MUST cover preexisting condition IF you currently have coverage under another plan.
So what you want to do is get anther job, sign up for insurance, THEN drop the old insurance plan (just write them a later). That way, in most cases your coverage is continuous.
