This is America, you can contest the beneficiary of the annuities account if your the purchaser of the policy or have a legal document describing what your interests in the policy are. The final decision would be of the courts. |

Annuity beneficiaries, like life insurance, transfer by right of contract. The owner designates the beneficiary at application, or can change it at any time during their life.
So the answer is no.

if a son predeceases only living parent and then parent dies shortly after son, and the beneficaries are the son and daughter, then all goes to the surving daughter. is this correct and does any of the sons children get anything? if no, is the michigan anti-lapse statue, mcl 700.2709, make it right for the son's children to sue for that part of their father's estate. Everything I am reading is annuities and insurance policies are different from wills and trust. |
