Herald | Can you find life insurance policies taken out on you by someone else? |

If medical information was reported on the application, it was probably reported to the Medical Information Bureau (MIB). If any information was reported to the MIB, it can give you a report that lists the insurance company(ies) that reported the information. You're entitled to one MIB report on yourself per year at no charge.
Go here for more information:
http://www.mib.com/html/request_your_record.html
If you suspect a particular individual, you should speak with an attorney, who may be able, through the courts, to force that person or persons to tell you. If there was no insurable interest at the time the policy was purchased, this is considered "against the public interest," and you can either have the policy voided or ownership transferred to you.
I hope this helps. |

MIB will provide consumers with record disclosure once annually without charge!
Upon receipt of your (a) request for a Record Search and Disclosure, and (b) proper identification, MIB will initiate the disclosure process and provide you with:
· the nature and substance of information, if any, that MIB may have in its files pertaining to you;
· the name(s) of the MIB member companies, if any, that reported information to MIB
· the name(s) of the MIB member companies, if any, that received a copy of your MIB record during the twelve (12) month period preceding your request for disclosure.
MIB is committed to the philosophy that every consumer should be entitled to know the contents of his or her record maintained by MIB and has the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information in the record.
To obtain free disclosure, you must call MIB’s toll-free phone number listed below.
MIB’s toll-free number for disclosure is 866-692-6901

There is an organization called Medical Information Bureau (MIB) which is a database warehouse for the insurance industry to assist insurers in preventing insurance fraud.
The MIB provides consumers with record disclosure once annually without charge. Such disclosure will include information about any application for individually underwritten life, health, or disability insurance during the preceding seven year period.
The phone number to make the request is: 1-866-692-6901 |

The policy itself? You could probably ask the company for a copy.
Someone else can't take one out on you without your permission. You have to sign off on the application. |

Probably not unless YOU have a copy of it yourself. You would KNOW if someone has DONE it though. Most Life Ins companies require some kind of spit-test or blood-test, or some kind of physical. If have had that done, and someone else is paying for it, you MAY be able to get a COPY of the Policy from the Company that insures you, even though you aren't the one paying for it. |
