No...there are many laws that prevent an insurance provider (company) from issuing a policy to anyone without a Social Security number. Most of these laws revolve around the need for proper identification at the time the policy is issued and later when the policy is paid out. Think of it this way; insurance companies are required to have points of indentifications. Your full name, birthdate, social security number and place of birth are the four basic ones because they zero in on only one person. You would hate to have someone you don't know benefiting from your policy simply because there is more than one person with your name. |

Actually, I'm attending training tomorrow for a life insurance company that is offering a new product that does not require the agent to get a social security number for an applicant.
There are no laws requiring SSN for life insurance, but most companies require it as part of a complete application. |

Yes, if you are a foreign citizen or resident, there are companies that may cover you on US paper if you have over $100k domiciled here or are a majority shareholder in a US business. If you are a foreign citizen, but legal US resident, you may also be able to get coverage on US paper. |

Theoretically, yes. THere's no law requiring insurance companies to get SS numbers.
Practically, no. If you don't have one, they're going to presume you aren't in the US legally, and will deny your application. If you have one and refuse t give it to them, they will also deny your application. |
