Diaus | Can you tell me where do i go to buy cheap health insurance? How about online health insurance? |
I'm 23 and my parents can't cover me under family insurance anymore. Buying from my work place is very expensive and have to work at least 32 hours. Buying from University is about $1,400 a year. I need help, plz offer your opinion. Thank you. |

$1400 a year is a great price for medical insurance... go for it.
Once you're ready to work FT, hopefully your insurance will be one of the benefits offered, but for now stick with the University insurance.
That's what it's for~

It all depends on what state you are in. Here in Missouri I have invested in a HSA (Health Savings Account) for my wife (31) and daughter (1), as my office covers me. Their monthly premium is $284 for the high deductible policy, and then we put $50 per month into the HSA account.
I got ours from Anthem, which is a Blue Cross and Blue Shield program. See http://anthem.com/.
Hope this helps. |

You do not say in which country you are. In the U.S., $1,400 per year is very cheap. That is barely more than $100 per month. In NY state several years ago, the least expensive policies (other than ones through government programs) were already well over $200 per month and were already rapidly approaching $300. The plan from my former employer in California was well over $400 per month, and employer plans are usually less expensive than individual policies.
So the answer to your question is that, in your case, you go to your university to buy very cheap ($1400 per year) health insurance. |

Assuming you are healthy, it is best to purchase a high deductible plan to keep your premium low. Preventive care is important. A low co-pay for office visits, annual physical/gynecological exam, urgent care facilities, and medication should all be covered without having to meet the high deductible first.
Most Blue Cross plans offer such policies. Find the Blue Cross in your state online for a quote, and to apply if you wish. |

Dude, 1,400 is a good annual premium... Where you need to look is if it is good coverage.
I am 22 in college and I use Golden Rule (subsidiary of United Health care). They have several policies you can choose from like traditional 80/20 co-insurances with your choice of deductables or you can go the FSA/HSA route which allows you good coverage at a lower price but you are responsible for you entire deductable upfront before the insurance company starts paying. You can get a low deductable of 1,100$ a year up to 5,000 a year depending on what you think is best for you.
I suggest asking your parents to help you!!! |
