If you knew it was going to cancel, why didn't you pay it?
Ever heard of Murphy's Law? "If something can go wrong, it probably will."
Even if your accident was recorded at 12:02am, your policy would be out of benefit.
Want a "grace period" in your auto policy? You can buy it. Just keep it paid 30 days ahead, and you'll never have to worry about it being canceled for non-payment. |

Sorry to say it but......sucks to be you. If the policy cancelled at 12:01 am -- then any accident after that time (12:02 included) is not covered.
When you go in to reinstate the policy - the policy becomes effective at the date and time you make the payment.
So - policy cancel at 12:01 am. You have an accident at 2: 41 pm and go straight from your accident to your insurance agent office and pay your premium and reinstate your policy at 3:15 pm. There is no coverage for the accident.
The policy stopped at 12:01 and did not start back until 3:15. |
