If you read the loan terms, there will be a clause in there that states you must have insurance at all times. |

Yes the can! If there was no insurance at any moment and they found out, the car was out of trust and they have the right to protect their interest by applying insurance to it at whatever rate they get. You can usually provide them with proof of insurance yourself and they will drop the charges if they are named as an interested party. If you payoff the loan with a refi then they won't care anymore. Is the $2000 for a full year or only 6 months? |

You can't add a car to your homeowners insurance. Period.
If you are uninsured, then yes, every loan agreement says they put forced placement coverage on your car, and they bill you for it. Any money you pay in, goes to pay the insurance FIRST, so that if you keep making your regular payments, it will all go to insurance, and the car will get repo'd. |
