Bad Idea.
It's insurance fraud. A felony.
It's filing a false police report- also another crime.
I'm sure there are more in there -- those are just the first two that come to mind. |

bad idea.
one slip up by anyone could lead to you becoming the newest "involuntary guest" at the state prison.
it is called insurance fraud. sure, it happens. and the companies know it happens and so are always looking to make an example of the ones they catch who try it. |

You or your friends could easily go to jail.
Cops (gasp) have a way of tracking down people who sell stuff that's "stolen" |

you will get cought
if you were going to do this you must be able to make sure there is no possible way anyone cant think that it is fake. otherwise they will investigate it and the story will get shaky and then you go to jail |

The problem you'll run into is.....your insurance policy has strict limits on electronic equipment and jewelry. You'll work really hard to pull this off and only collect a few hundred dollars, unless you have everything specifically insured, which will cost you substantially more in premium. My guess is....you'll screw it up becuase you don't really have any idea what your policy says, and you'll get caught, put in jail, spend some time with "Bubba", have to end up sitting on a doughnut the rest of your life, and wish to God you'd never thought of ths stupid plan. |

Could be a very smart thing, but at the same time extremely stupid.
If you do it be sure to not get trapped in your own lies.
Many people do this, but they end up paying a fine or going to jail.
It's up to you. |
