LesGrossman, Home insurance covers lots of different things. I'm not familiar with all the details of my homeowners policy, but my home insurance agent is always a phone call away. At some stage you, or someone else, has filled in some sort of marketing survey and amongst the myriad of questions there would have been one about when did your house insurance run out, when did your car insurance run out. Many people get so fed up with these things they put any old thing in.
The answers in these surveys get broken down into sections and form the basis of lists which are sold. So if you are an insurance company you can buy a list of people with home insurance due for renewal in next 3 months say. Selling lists is big business!
Nearly every time you buy a new electrical appliance there is a form in the box for you to fill in and send off to 'register' your product. These forms always include a mini consumer survey which has nothing at all to do with the product you have just bought. |
