It really depends on your age and level of coverage. My husband pays $245 a month and has to pay $50 for each office visit and 100% of prescription costs. I am a few years younger and have a different plan that costs $200. I pay $40 a visit, have $10 co-pays but I also have a 10K annual out-of-pocket expense...good luck! |

gearys 79 answer is less than fully accurate. It is not true that only the rich have adequate coverage. When I was working as an auto mechanic I had no difficulty paying for health coverage, my friend who is a machinist is able to afford health insurance. His allegation that Magic Johnson is the only "fat guy" he has seen with AIDS suggests to me that he hasn't seen many people with AIDS. I don't work for an insurance company nor my specifically a giant fan of them. However at $2000 for an MRI health care costs can get quite high. And it's not like you can be extra stingy with MRIs or other tests or the patient/patients family sues for millions and the costs still go up. |

On top of the hundreds of dollars a month, they won't even give you coverage if you've ever been sick. Like, if you were treated for depression once in your life, they will deny coverage. So if you are both perfect, and always have been, it should only be around $300 a month with co-pays and lucky you if they cover your prescriptions.
