In Insurance underwriting two factors are mainly considered
1. Age and health condition of the insured
2. Insureds capacity to pay the premium.
Here you are mentioned only about the capacity .Getting an insurance above 65 old is very difficult,In India mainly two types of policies are there
1. Disability income policy
2. Medi claim policy (hospitalisation policy).
As per your need mediclaim policy is the best that covers all hospitalisation bills apart from pre existing problems and some exclusions.If they have some chronic conditions long term care policy is the best, it covers the treatment in hospital and home.But premium is very high.The availability of LTC policy in India is very few

If your parents are old enough to be on Medicare then a Medicare supplement plan F for each of them will cover anything that Medicares approves but doesn't cover. If they are not on Medicare due to age or disability then there are several excellent companies to choose from. It all depends on your parents health status whether the company will insure them or not. The premium that the insurance company will charge you depends on where they live, their ages, tobacco status, (tobacco users of any kind will pay more), and whether they can answer no to the health questions (any pre-existing conditions). I really need more information to help you like their ages, where they live, and a little about their present health status. |
