Did someone actually get a great quote for car insurance online? where?
i saw that insurance companies ask for some personal information when it comes to giving an online quote, so i'm trying not to give it to all of the weird companies that come up in a general search, and i was also interested to know if its worth the effort
Lots of people do, but when it comes time to actually buy the policy, the quote usually changes.
They ask for personal information, because in order to do a halfway accurate quote, they need to run a DMV check and a credit check.
It's not worth the effort. Go to a real, live, local independent agent, who can quote you with ten companies at the same time.

Try using http://My-InsuranceSearch.com to compare car insurance rates for all the major providers in your area.

Try Progressive, they quoted me $41.07 (on bare minimum insurance) for a 25yo, w/suspended license, 3 confirmed tickets, 1 court supervision ticket, 1 ticket processing.
I'd say they are the cheapest.

You can try this company - http://autoinsurance.maclenet.com - I personally have their car insurance. As I know it provides cheapest rates in my area.

Quotes are only as accurate as the amount of information you provide. The less info you provide, the less accurate the quote will be. If you feel uncomfortable putting personal info out on the web (understandable) than call some local agents and let them work up an accurate quote for you. It's really not a big deal, when a customer calls me and has all their info ready for me, I can give them quotes in 15 minutes, sometimes less.
