Health insurance covers medical stuff - like doctor visits, medicines, ER visits, etc.
Life insurance is a policy paid to a person you choose (spouse, child, parent, friend) when you die to cover expenses such as funeral costs, debts, etc.

health insurance helps pay doctor bills while your alive, life insurance helps your family pay bills after you die

You pay for health insurance for doctors visits, hospitalization, for when you are alive. Life insurance is for when you die to leave money for those you leave behind to pay for your bills, burial, etc.

One is much easier to collect.

health insurance is for when you are sick and go to the dr or hosp, or medicines and things like that. life insurance is for when you die, a certain amount of money goes to whoever is left behind -- family, spouse, children, etc

Health insurance helps people pay medical expenses and makes it easier for them to see a doctor. Health insurance can protect people from having to pay very high medical bills. Many people who have health insurance get it through work. Other people buy their own health insurance or get it through publicly funded programs.

To put it simply, life insurance protects those who depend on your paycheck. If you die prematurely, life insurance provides your dependents with ongoing income to replace yours, until (or unless) they can live comfortably without it. It can also provide a timely emergency fund for medical, legal, and funeral costs, should family savings not be adequate to cover them. (After all, that golf-inspired Fairway to Heaven casket ain't cheap.)

It is a good idea to check with a qualified insurance agent before purchasing a health insurance policy. Health policies can get very complex and can hidden coverages/non-coverages. Try going to http://www.insureme.com/?Refby=614545. This web site will allow you to compare prices and find the best price and coverage. It is free of charge and they even give you the option to speak to local agents if you have questions.

I hope that helps!

Health pays for medical care. Life pays someone else when you die.

Life deal with mortality rates. Health, Disability, and Long-term care insurances deal with morbidity rates.

Mortality rates deal with statistics related to death, while the Morbidity rates deal with illness and accidents stats associated to a persons living to reach the accepted mortality rate.

there is a great difference between life and health insurance health insurance is suppoused to cover ur medical stuff but life insurance functions like a security seat belt for ur family by having life insurance policy ur family would have a financial assurance after yur death or even now a days there are various kind of life insurance that make it possible for u to have a considerable savings for changing it to annuities or use this fund during ur life but health is not so ........both of them are absolutely essential

Health insurance primarily covers your financial needs when you are ill or involved in accident. Life insurance is no longer seen as providing for your loved one nowadays, it is also seen as a protection against total permanant disability (TPD) and this means that if you are paralysed, your life policy will pay you the sum assured plus any attached bonus in installment for 3 to 5 years, depending on your insurer's terms and conditions.
So, in my opinion, it is wise to have both health & life insurance and keep to your budget so that you will not lapse the policies whenever it comes to paying for the premium. Take care!

Most people that go bankrupt are in bad financial shape because they have no health insurance when they get sick.Health insurance is the most impotant insurance that one should have.Without your health there is no wealth.

Life insurance is for when you die....you never see it, your beneficiaries do. Health insurance pays for hospitalization or what ever benefits you buy with it.

Keep it simple - Life pays a death benefit to your heirs and Health covers your medical costs.

Life insurance doesn't pay out until after you're dead. Health insurance pays out to help keep you from being dead. If you GET dead, health insurance stops paying out.

There's a maximum amount that life insurance pays out - the face value of the policy. There IS no maximum amount that health insurance pays out.

The other answerers have done a good job of describing the differences between health and life insurance, but I’ll add my voice to the crowd. Both life insurance and health insurance provide financial protection, but they protect different people. Health insurance protects the insured while life insurance protects the insured’s beneficiaries. Health insurance pays out while you are alive, and life insurance pays out (although you can collect early in some cases) when you die. The value of both health insurance and life insurance is what the insurance company pays out, but there are notable differences. For example, health insurance generally does not have a maximum payout (some health plans do have a cap, however), while life insurance does have a maximum payout.

As for the history of health and life insurance, health insurance is a newer product in the US. At the beginning of the 1900s, medical costs were low, so people did not need health insurance. Insurance companies were reluctant to offer health insurance plans because at that time they could not adequately predict the cost of insurance individuals, and they were suspicious of “moral hazard” – that a person who purchased a health insurance policy would then engage in riskier behavior. As the cost of health care increased and insurance companies developed more sophisticated risk-reward models, health insurance became more common.

One similarity between health insurance and life insurance is that usually in both cases the insurance company would prefer that you were alive and well.

If you would like to compare health insurance and life insurance plans available near you, try visiting MostChoice.com. You can review multiple insurance plans from over 100 insurance companies, and you can speak to state-licensed insurance agents – all without cost or obligation.
