Do Copays with health insurance get reported back to the primary holder?
I bought some prescriptions that I didnt want the primary insurance holder to find out about so I told the pharmacy not to run my insurance card... but for some reason the idiot did. So I was wondering if insurance holder is going to find out about this in a monthly statement or something. Or if because it was so little money (32 dollars had the guy not used my insurance 22 after he did) that it wont show up. thanks for the help!

Yes, usually an "explanation of benefits" (EOB) is mailed to the primary insurance holder/member. I don't know what kind of insurance you have but with any insurance I've had, these EOBs aren't mailed for prescriptions, only medical treatment.

The insurance holder may be able to pull up the prescription history on the insurance's website if he/she felt so inclined to look it up. Most major insurance companies offer online access to these EOBs and benefit history.

Many insurers have online claims/EOB viewing. If the primary cardholder chooses to register for such a service, they can view any claims processed/billed under their policy.

Aside from that, EOBs don't generally go out for prescriptions. (For most people, the prescription benefit is a separate benefit from the medical benefits. There are exceptions, of course.)

You're probably safe with a prescripton purchase, unless the cardholder chooses to check either by calling or online. But there are no guarantees.

It certainly is able to be found fairly easily if the primary insurance holder had a suspicion and wanted to check.

However, some health insurance companies mail out monthly statements but most do not.

One way to save money on your health care costs is to purchase an HSA. Here is some more information on an HSA:

There is no one who can answer that question. You never know when something might show up. Fraud isn't good to do. Worry about something else. What's done is done. I can't believe you wanted to keep the rx a secret and you went to your usual druggist.

my experience was with an insurance company is that the primary card holder (my ex husband) did get EOB and i didn't know about it. If you are that concerned, try getting health insurance on your own with you being the subscriber.
generally i don't think that prescriptions are included in EOB, but doctors visits are.

I think you're safe. Most insurance companies that I know of do not issue monthly statements.
