Do I need health insurance for 3 days?
I am a recent college grad. My health insurance coverage under my parents plan will end on May 31st. I have a job (!!!!) with immediate health insurance coverage that will begin on June 4th. Should I get a one month short-term plan or are there provisions within the health insurance industry should something happen during this three day period? Or should I just lock myself in my apartment for the three days and take no risks?!!!
Only if something happens during the 3 days. If it were me, I'd follow the "lock myself in the apartment" plan. Although that's not an official insurance answer, LOL.

It's your call - depends on how lucky you feel. The chances of something disastrous happening in that three days is low - but if it does, you could have major problems.

Unless you have major-league ongoing health issues, just be SUPER careful for those three days!
If you take any prescriptions regularly, make sure they're filled by May 30th to avoid any problems.

Unless you have health issues, I wouldn't worry about those 3 days. I haven't had health insurance for years. You should be fine for 3 days. There aren't that many health issues that you wouldn't be able to wait for 3 days to see a doctor. For that matter, it usually takes longer than that to get an appointment with a doctor.

Why take the risk? Insurance is something we have in case something happens. Short term insurance is very inexpensive and it will give you the peace of mind to know you have coverage. Plus a lot of accidents happen at home so your "lock " plan is not very realistic. In the other hand if you have any pre-existing condition you have to make sure there is no gaps in your coverage, a lot of companies put a time restriction for a one, two or even 5 years to cover that, but if you can prove you've had continues coverage for X amount of years it will help you get a better rate and most likely get your illness/condition cover right away
