Do I need insurance for my $2000 engagement ring?

I just bought an engagement ring and was wondering if I need to insure it? The place I bought it will back up any damage that is had to the ring. I don't really feel like paying a monthly fee for something like that. Let me know how much insurance is monthy for something like this and if it is necessary

Well, it would cost about 2% if you added it to your renters or homeowners policy.

Do you NEED to insure it? Well, no. But if it gets stolen, or the stone falls out, or the dog eats it, or if it falls down the drain, you're out of a ring.

if you have a homeowners or renters policy you can schedule onto that policy. It is pretty inexpensive. your policy would cover it for theft only and up to $1500. If the stone falls out or if it is lost it would not be covered unless its scheduled. i would advise you to schedule it.

If you own your home, you can add it on to your home owners insurance, and it doesnt cost any extra, or very little.

You only need to insure it if you think that by somehow losing it would not be a major setback for you financially.

It's only necessary if it is lost or stolen.
If you have household insurance you can get a "Rider" on this insurance to cover your ring

If not you will have to buy a policy to cover the ring or take the chance and not be covered.

should be covered under your homeowners/renters policy subject to your deductible but i would reccomend putting a rider on your policy so it can be covered on an all risk basis. its not very expensive.
